Why do you come to oxygen?

I come to oxygen almost every single Thursday, for many different reasons. It is a great time for me to have the chance to hang out with my friends who truly know the Lord. I also enjoy going to meet new friends who have a passion and a desire to be everything they can and more for God. I learn so much more each week about Jesus Christ. Pastor Eric's teachings are truly inspirational, and make you want to live a life you love, a life for Jesus. Whenever I miss a week, I feel as though my week was incomplete. I feel Youth Group is a place where I can really worship the Lord, and thank him for all he has done for us.

Oxygen is an amazing time of being able to spend time in God's house! Being with such amazing people lifts your spirit, and helps you through the week. I have built my strongest friendships here at youth group, where I feel comfortable to open up my heart about my walk with Christ & just be crazy! I find my purpose being able to worship a living God, and be fed by his word... and the cafe, video games and comfortable atmosphere are a perk! What a blessing oxygen has been because it is a refuge from the draining culture with live in.

What does Oxygen mean to you?

Because every human needs oxygen to survive, the name Oxygen for our youth group is suitable. Every person needs Jesus Christ in their life as much as oxygen, if not, more, to survive. In order to have eternal life, you need to accept Jesus as your personal savior and friend, therefore "Oxygen" is the place and the essential thing you need in order to survive.

What would you say to someone to encourage them to come to Youth Group?

Just try it, you won't regret it. - Laura S.

To encourage some to come to youth group, I usually tell them about all the great things we have. I begin telling them about our hang out time, where we have time to play in the arcade, play basketball, eat, and talk to friends. Then I tell them about service, which is a time for them to really open your hearts to the Lord. Our Youth Group is really different than most, so it's a great opportunity for them to have an awesome time while learning about our Lord.
